Johnny Five is alive!

Ahoy hoy everyone!

Quickie post

1- Still alive! YAY!

2- Vacation over. boooo....

3- Pain still there but less. Had follow up appointment (after it being pushed back a month!). All they had was, there's nothing serious, so just manage the pain, it's "normal" and it should go away on it's own. Joy.

4- Work had a major re-strucuring. No one was fired, more re-assigning of titles and such. we got a new CEO, things seem like they are getting organized, so hopefully it'll be less blah then it's been lately.

5- Ummmmm.... I somehow got into a relationship. I'm happ, so is she (I hope!) but yeah, I'm also a little, WTF am I doing and how did I con her into actually going out with me in the first place?!? Little surreal at times but in a good way :)

6- Still really busy. Sorry for not keeping up to date with everyone, I really do miss my blog friends. But well for once it's a case of real life trumping net life. And in a good way for once! WOOHOO!

Well that's all really, just wanted to let you all know that I'm still breathing. Hope everyone's doing well.

Cheers!

News of my demise have been greatly exaggerated

Ahoy hoy everyone!

Yes I am alive! I am sorry to be away so long, but to be honest I just haven't been feeling the internet groove lately. Now don't get me wrong I miss you all, but I find myself spending a lot less time online then I used too, and when I'm on, it's quick FB, email and off.

So for those wondering, here's an update in bullet points because it's Friday and I'm lazy:

- I am still alive

- I also suddenly have a social life. No clue how that happened.

- Social life has been the cause of drama and fun

- Pain down there is still there. More ultra-sounds abdomen and pelvis next week. Something there might be the cause of the pain. If it's all clear, then they're out of ideas.

- Not sure if I want them to find something or not.

- Trying to catch up on blogs.

- Have vacation coming up at the end of September. Anyone willing to house a crazy canuck for a couple of days?

- Way too many posts to catch up on.

- Will not promise to try to be on more often, cause not sure if I can keep it right now.

Hope everyone in the blogverse is doing well. To anyone still checking in here thanks for dropping by :)

Still alive or Drunken Post III

Ahoy hoy everyone!

Just wanted to let you all know I'm still alive. Still feeling like crap but alive!

Today was a long humpday, because as well as all the other crap I'm dealing with, my shoulder decided to join in and start acting up again, yay! -.-

So anyway, I got an appointment with my chiropractor tomorrow. That appointment with the specialist is finally getting closer.

I'm also thinking of taking some time off in the end of September, because hell I need it.
Speaking of need.... well not really need, but it's been a while and I felt like it, but I just discovered that I prefer cranberry vodka over screwdrivers....

So if only for a little while, I'm feeling good.....

Thanks everyone for your well wishes. Not quite ready to blog/comment. But I thought I'd peek in.

Feeling all over the place. Not sure if I'll ever really talk about it though as it's really personal, even by my blogging standards.

Been listening to this song a lot (but not exclusively), so it gives you an idea of some of what's going through my head. Although, it's a lot more complicated then just that. If it was just that I could deal. Honestly, all that's missing is an unwanted pregnancy and I probably could sell this story to Hollywood... oh and an evil twin. cause there should always be an evil twin.

I think I need a nap.

Gone fishing....

Not really. But my head isn't in the blogging spirit right now. Have too many things swirling and stuff that's too personal that I don;t want to blog about it.

Yes there are some things I don;t blog about! :p

So just taking a small blogging break, I'll be ok. Just need to clear things in my head and sorry if I don't comment or respond as fast as I usually do in the meantime.

Quickie and other Sunday tidbits

Ahoy hoy everyone!

Thought I'd give you all an update. Thanks again everyone for the well wishes on my last post.
It's been about a week since I went to the hospital for this (TMI if you click this link). I wish I could say it's all good, but it's not. Not as bad as then, but definitely still sore. I'm also having a hell of a time scheduling an appointment with a urologist for a follow up.

And I guess the the fight song of my life's soundtrack make more sense now. Cause, my back hurts since my posture is all crap from trying to keep my other problem from hurtin too much. Here it goes again... :\
Ah well at least I know how to take care of my back and it should feel better when I go see my chiro.

Pictured - Not my chiropractor
Alright, now, on to more light stuff.... I've only turned on the option for google to search my blog about a month or so ago. So I don't have many searched done. I know unless you want to specifically check up on me, you wouldn;t really have any reason to visit, so I have a really low search count, which is fine.

But I swear the few I have are hilarious! I have 9 search results that ended up on my blog.  Four of which are variations on "blogspot ahoy hoy". So do those people googling that, WHY AREN'T YOU FOLLOWING ME INSTEAD!?!  ;p

Now for the weird, the single individual search (ahoy hoy blogspot owould be #1 with all the combos) would be "Micheal Ignatieff"! Seriously, a boring politician is the search term that brought the most people to my blog? Crap... I gotta start posting more about porn stars.... then imagine all the hits!

Speaking of porn stars.... "hoy guy porn" is third in the list. Now obviously some people were so excited, they couldn't even type hot properly, but hey, welcome! Just ummmm I hope you don't mind if I ask you to wash your hands.... Also in the porn theme is ahoyhoyporn. I just did a quick google search. Holy crap, there is a porn blog called ahoy hoy porn! Bwahahahaha... imagine the poor user looking for some porn, only to stumble unto my blog.... now that had to have been a mood killer.

Actual top image for ahoy hoy porn.... and it links to my blog!
Rounding out the search criteria are "ahoy hoys best port". Which is weird cause the only ports that I think I would ever have talked about would be computer ports....

And last but not least... "can hell week be extended" and to that I say HELL NO!!!! Why the hell would anyone want a hellish week to be extended? You have serious issues!

Welp, hope everyone had a nice weekend! I have another short week as Friday is Canada day! So have a good week everyone.

update on my pain.... and very much TMI (might be nsfw-ish if office is very prudish too)

Hmmmm that sounds liek a good emo title. I may keep that for a future update, maybe a woe is me poem for the future when im drunk and wearing black mascara.

Instead this post is about actual physical pain. So WARNING!!!!! The following post details stuff that most, nay all of you may want to skip. Seriously.... there will be too much information ahead!

Look I even added an image to show how serious I am!
.

..

...

.....

Wow, still here? That bored at work huh? Ok... well here's my painful story for your amusement...

Welp... as many of you know... I've been having some problems down there. Basically, some days it felt like my boys where being squeezed. Saturday I wanted to see my doc, but the office was closed and they'd only open on Tuesday.

eh no worries, if the pain didn;t get any worse, I could make it until Tuesday. Famous last words....

Staurday went by... not too bad, a little worse, but maybe a good nights sleep would help. Sunday morning, eh not much better. But bearable, until the night came along. I was walking home from my parents. By the time I got home, it felt like someone had a deathgrip on me. I mean lying down in tears, freaking out kind of pain.

I finally gave up, called y parents and they drove me to the ER. Yes, it was so bad, I caved and decided to risk hours of wait and possibly catching other nasty stuff... it was that bad!

Well good news for me though, apperantly testicular pain is something serious, andI got blood sample taken right away as well as put on a higher priority. I was basically in and out in about 3 hours. The doc gave me a prescirption for a different set of antibiotics. As well I had to return the next day to get an ultra sound done and a follow up with an ER doc.

Oh and one last surprise, I had to get an antibiotic shot... in the butt. Yep, the needle going in wasn't bad, but feeling the injection itself and immediately after... let's just say I hobbled out of there.

The next day was uneventful but long. Ultra sound was done quickly and didn;t show anything worriesome. But the ER was PACKED that morning and even though I had a higher priority since I was there for a follow up, I waited like 3 hours before a doc saw me again. So she gave me a number for a urologist to follow up with after im done with this batch of meds.

I just ended day one of the new meds (about to take the second pill) and I have to admit, I;m cautiously optimistic. It's a bit better. I need to fax in the paper the ER doc gave me before being able to setup an appointment with the urologist, so that will be done tomorrow.

And while all of this sucked donkey balls (and felt at times like I got kicked in the balls by a donkey) the absolute worst part is that I missed my sisters graduation. At least I was able to catch the webcast of it and join my family for supper, but it really sucks that I couldn't be there :(

Welp, that's my story of woe. Why am I sharing this? Well I guess the pain isn;t gone... so I am still scared that this might have more complications. Especially since it took like 4 weeks before getting to this point. just need to vent out, clear my head and hopefully let some of the worry go by sharing.

If you have read all the way through this, I am sorry that you went through all of that.

Oh and for those of you curious, the docs suspect I have Epididymitis
And before anyone wonders, no it was not from an STD. My boys have been fondled more times in the past 48 hours then they well almost ever and the last time was well over a year maybe a year and a half ago!

Great, just my luck, I somehow still got an STD without the action!

ugh.... anyway, sorry again for putting you through all of this. Time to pop my pill and hopefully get back to normal!

Update and the soundtrack to my life

Ahoy hoy everyone!

I just wanted to thank everyone for their comments on my last post. It really helped, and I just hope that I can be as good a friend to all of you as you've been with me.

So quickie update on me, I am feeling a bit better, at least moral wise. Still not rainbows and unicorns, but definitely away from being all emo-y

Good lord if I ever get to that, shoot me!

Physically, well it still feels like someone is squeezing the boys sometimes (and not in the good way). Finished off my second batch of anti-biotics but nothing much has changed. Wanted to see my doc this morning as a walk in patient, but just my luck, the office was closed :\  They open again on Tuesday. Joy.
The pain is usually bareable most of the time and sometimes even forgettable, so I'm not too worried just yet. But I know it's a big reason for my blahs.

Ok enough about my health, cause I'm sure it's WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY too much information for you guys.

So a light entry today ofr today. This has been going around the blogosphere I bleieve and since I'm a sheep, I'm doing it too! :D

"Story of my life" or was it "The soundtrack of my life"? Eh, it was something like that.... Anywho, the rules:

1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For everyline, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend your cool…

Besically this would be the soundtrack of my Lifetime Movie. For this, I'm using my mp3 player which I talked about in this post. And because I love you all, the songs link to their youtube clips :)

Opening Credits:
REM - It's the end of the world
I bet that's what my parents thought when I was born, so I guess it fits.

Waking Up:
Jay Sean - Down
Hmmmm not really a wake up song.... but it's up beat I guess

First Day At School:
Mercenaries 2 - Oh no you didn't
Lol, this was used in an add for the game. I have the ad version which was the first 30 seconds or so... it's hilarious and I guess could fit into the school/bully thing lol.

Fight Song:
OK Go - Here it goes again

Sounds like my life is a never ending battle lol. Ah well, here it goes again....

Breaking Up:
Robert Randolph & the Family Band - Aint Nothin' Wrong with That

Well I guess I wasn't too broken up about it. :p

Prom:
Louis Armstrong - What A Wonderful World

Altogether now... awwwwwwwwwwwwww

Life:
Quiet Riot - Cum On Feel The Noize
HAHAHA!!!! I wish more girls would follow those lyrics in my life :p
Not bad as far as life athem goes.... let's get wild, wild, wild!

Mental Breakdown:
Weezer - "Memories"
Yeah, a song from Jackass is definitely a sign of a mental breakdown! It's also a pretty good mid-life crisis song lol

Driving:
Glee - Halo & Walking on sunshine
Don't judge me and my liking of Glee! But yeah, it's a pretty upbeat song.... oh my god.... this is were my life becomes a chick flick isn't it? ;p

Flashback:
Nana Mouskouri - Le temps de cerises

Not bad. A good flashback song. In fact I first heard it in Porco Rosso (go watch it, it's great!) and it sort of fits that theme of looking back at past :)

Wedding:
Billy Idol - Dancing with Myself
 Forever alone... :~(
At least I'm upbeat about it ;)

Birth of Child:
Colbie Caillat - Bubbly

Mostly a love/crush song, but a lot of it can fit for a new child too.

Final Battle:
That's right, bring it! Not a bad fight song at all. Can get the blood flowing...
"If I go crazy will you still call me Superman?"

So apperantly my death is a cause of celebration in the land. Forever alone... again :p
Holy crap, what if I'm the villain, and that's way everyone's so happy? O.O

Funeral Song:
Ludacris feat. DTP - Growing pains
Hmmmmm.... not my life, but it is a reminiscing song. Doen't fit my life (so far lol) but yeah as a funeral soundtrack to a movie... I can see them playing it with a montage of my life....

End Credit:Vengaboys - We like to Party!
Yes I'm ashamed I've never removed this from my player. But really at the end of it all, everyone should live their life like it's a party. (yeahh... I'll go with that...)

So all in all some while not specific to my life in some cases (I hope so) my mp3 player pulls through for me again! Even though it had to go and embarrass me a couple of times too :\
Welp. hope everyone has a great weekend. I have two short work weeks coming up WOOHOO!!! So go have fun and remember, We like to Party!

Edit. sorry for the funky formatting. Blogger is being a bitch and messing it up... so I'm not touching it anymore unless something is out of order....

Meh

Just a quick little emo rant from me today. Still alive. Been feeling a bit blue. Just one of those moments I guess.

My ummm "plumbing problems" don't seem to want to go away. I've been back to the docs too.... I dunno. I have some meds. Maybe wait a little after I run through the prescription to see if anything new. This has also the side effect of making me less mobile and willing to try to exercise. So (I am by no means fat or even chubby) I know I'm gaining weight...  and would like to nip that quickly before I have to buy myself new pants lol.

I also get whiny in these moment... things just seem like they pile up. Work is bleh.... and been feeling kinda alone. Like I'm always the one that has to reach out and get a conversation going (online and off). So I go in this really teen I'm all alone in the world space in my head. Which is of course total and utter crap. But that voice usually wins out in times like this.

And there's also the vicious cycle of guilt in feeling this bad, when I shouldn't because I have it so good. Which I'm sure I whined about in a a previous emo rant.

Meh, hopefully I'll snap out of this soon. It's way too nice out to be feeling sorry for myself.

P.S. I'm keeping up with everyones blogs! Sorry if I don't always comment though... Reading them though is helping me out of this funk :)

Blog herpes

Or blog-pes. It is a serious thankfully non life-threatening bug. Unlike it's real world cousin herpes, you actually don't mind swapping blog-pes around.

But isn't he cute?

For those of you who found this blog by searching for info about herpes. Obviously the wrong place. Sorry that you might have it. If it was cause you didn't use protection or some other careless act, well I hope you don't have it and that you learned your lesson: use protection!

Ok so what exactly did I catch? Well, the awesome Chio  gave the Versatile Blogger award right back to me. That's right, we're passing this bad boy around like horny retirees spreading STD's in Orlando (you're welcome for that lovely image).

So to get everyone up to speed:
Still just as shiny as when I gave it :D
The rules:

Rule 1. Thank and link to the person who nominated you.

Thank you Chio!

(and a thanks again to Mynx for the 1st one)
Rule 2. Share seven random facts about yourself.

So while it's awesome Chio gave gave me a shoutout and the award back, I now have to think of 7 more facts.... ugh...  Really I'm so boring, the first 7 were already hard to pick....

Well here goes:

1 - I always make sure my closet is closed before going to bed. It freaks me out when I'm half-asleep and I look over and it's opened.

2 - Speaking of sleep, in times of stress, I have these nightmares that it's the last day of the semester and I totally forgot this entire class that I needed to take to graduate.

3 - I finished uni like 7 years ago! Why do I still have those stupid nightmares.....

4 - For someone who works in the tech field, I am very slow to acquire the newest gadgets and signup for the latest cool sites. I still don't have a smartphone, no i-Whatever or any new gen consoles. I have a wii and a nice Sony LED tv and that's about the newest piece of hardware I have at my place right now....

5 - As evidence by my 2 drunken posts, I am a very cheap date. Sometimes just the taste of alcohol starts the tipsiness. So far I have managed to only be blazingly annoyingly drunk once in my life. Hope it stays that way.

6 - When I was around 15 and my sis was around 10, we saw a cock (roosters you filthy people) fight in the Philippines. Yes it's supposed to be for 18 and over. The people running it, just laughed at the sign and said that babies could watch if they wanted. My sis cried and couldn't stomach it. I just found the whole thing pointless and stupid.

7 - I do not have herpes. (Yeah, I ran out of ideas).

Rule 3. Pass the award along to 5 new-found blogging buddies.

Alright time to pass on the blogging love!

Tapetum Lucidum -  Versatile (as well as funny and entertaining) probably sums up Kat's blog nicely. She's also the reason you are all subjected to my insane ramblings here. So go thank (complain to) her!

Absolutely Narcissism - Sandra is just hilarious. Always a fun read, and she's currently in a competition to be a writer In the Powder Room. Go read her blog then Vote for her if you're so inclined :)

Sugar Free Thoughts - One of my blogging drinking buddies! Her grandmother said it best (and I'm paraphrasing) "orange juice is just meant to add colour to vodka"

Dawn @ Lighten Up! - My other blogging drinking buddy! I think the name of her blog says it all. Fun lighthearted looks into whatever is the subject of the post.

Tony Van Helsing's Mystery Theatre - Snippets about his life, musings and thoughts. Hasn't blogged as much lately due to various factors, but don't let that stop you!

Screw the rules! I have to add the lovely and talented Jewels who always has fun (and sometimes naughty) things to say! I aspire to he blog-someness.

I also just want to give a special shout out to Daily gossip and glitter who I will admit, I don't catch up on regularly, since I'm not a big follower of the entertainment industry. But it's worth checking out if you are! :D

So to recap, to those of you looking for info about herpes, I'll help you out just click here

But in a nutshell use protection kids!

And Remember this little song.... sound advice,
not just for protection against herpes but other nasties too!

drunken post II

WWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...............

So I might be a little tipsy lol.

Bad news, ran out of orange juice :(

Good news, apple juice and ice with vodka isn't that bad :)

While I;'posting, I want to thank Chio ofr re-sending the award! I'll spread more blog love when I'm sober lol

Hope everyone has a great weekend! (yes I know it's only friday tmr, still it's the end of the week!) YAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blog of firsts....

Ahoy hoy everyone!

Yes this post will be a post if firsts.

Firstly (see what I did there?), today's post will be completely complaint free. That's right, I feel like no matter what I right about, I'm always complaining about something. But not this time. Oh no, this post will be about something that will not be sullied by the cries for pity and of woe.

It has been a long time coming, but  Mynx gave me my first ever award! (and for that you are also the first ever blog I've linked to in a post! See this blog is just chock full of firsts).

Back to the important thing, that's right, I gots me an award. The versatile blogger award no less. Woohoo!

Isn't it purdy...

How I got her to bestow this award to me, I don't know. (Seriously I don't. Was it the bucks, the booze or the boys I sent your way?)

Anyway, like anything in life, there's a catch. Apparently there's rules....

1. Thank and link to the person who nominated you.

2. Share seven random facts about yourself.
3. Pass the award along to 5 new-found blogging buddies.

So so far so good, step 1 done. Thanks again Minx. Now I know I have a very small loyal readers and a lot of you already read her blog, but to those that haven't haven't go now!

Now for the tricky part... 7 random facts.... alright well some of you will already know this stuff but hey, the rules didn't specify it had to be something new :p

1- I will try just about any kind of food at least once. In fact I have had balut on more then one occasion
2- I was born the day before mother's day.
3- Gluttony and sloth are two of my favourite sins
4- I love the Doors, my favourite song is probably The Crystal Ship
5- I know how to play 8 Days a Week on the piano
6- I've always been no farther then 3 metro stations away from whatever school I was going too here in montreal
7- I love playing Scrabble. What;s more, I love winning in Scrabble lol. so if anyone ever wants to play a game online, let me know! :)

yeah I know, kinda weak facts, but I couldn't think of anything really interesting... at least not in point form like that. I got a few stuff, but they're kinda brewing in my head for full posts :)

Finally I need to pass this award on. Now, I know most of the commenters on my blog already read each other's blog, so please excuse me if I don't mention you for the award. Not that you're undeserving, but just trying to spread the blog love around :)

So here goes:

Several deadly cines by Stace - a blog about his studies in screenwriting/cinema studies. some interesting things to read and good for those who love to write, regardless of medium.

Mastering the pieces by Steph - showcasing great fingernail art (she should be a professional hand model) as well as the going ons in her life.

Everything that rises must be read - Mostly for horror movie buffs. Great reviews as well as occasional posts about non-horror related things.

Happy dying sun - Chio's blog. a blog about her day to day usually, she's always entertaining :)

... i can stay - a crazy irish reviews basically a book a day until he gets the right to stay in Oz. And now that he has that right, he's still going!

I promise to spread more of the blog love soon! But for now, I think I'll go indulge in one of my favourite sins and go loaf ;)

Vacation

Before I start this post, let me set the proper music...

Every trip should begin with this song..

Now this might be a pretty boring post since everything went well, but I had a great time and wanted to share :)

My flight down to VA was pretty uneventful. My first time travelling with a suit and let me say that's a pain in the ass. It's ok as carry on, but dragging it everywhere trying to make sure it doesn't get folded too much is a hassle. Oh and yeah, my sis's check in luggage was destroyed. Handle and stand popped off.

Now my parents bought it in Hong Kong though.. so well y'know.....

Anyway, we arrived at VA, and went to pick up our rental car. Now I don't drive often. Public transport is a thousand times easier then driving to get around here in Montreal. So anywho, I made a reservation for something like this:

Something small, but that I've driven before. Besides it would only be for my sis and I, so anything larger would be a waste of gas. Well when we got there, they didn't have any, so I got a free upgrade to this beast:

Holy hell I hated that car! It handled well enough, but it was too big for the two of us. Blind spots were a pain and I still couldn't figure out the lights preoperly for the life of me! And for a non-driver like me, it was intimidating at first. At least I knew other people would be swerving away from me!

The rest of the vacation went great though! My cousin had a lovely wedding and we got to spend lots of time with my "family" there.

The weather was cooperative for the most part, but i didn't get any good beach time :(

Only 2 things really put a sour note on the whole thing. The first is what I've kinda blogged about already. I had to stay an extra day cause a flight was cancelled. Luckily since it was due to a mechanical failure, the airline paid for hotel plus gave us 15$ each for food. So it wasn't too bad.

The other sore point and I mean that literally was that well.... I basically felt like I was kicked in the nads over the course of my vacation. It started the day before I left. At first i thought it was just cause I had a really weird dream or something and hurt myself. Nope, it lasted throughout. It would come and go, but I would never really feel completely ok. So that was really annoying, I finally got to see my doc (yes again..... thank god for universal health care or I'd be broke!) and well it looks like it's just probably an infection that's caused my tubing to flame up. So i got me some meds and going back in about two weeks. Joy.....

Seriously though, even with all that, I managed to have a great time! I would post pics, but my sis has them all. Maybe when I get them I'll post some up, but I wouldn't hold my breathe. She still has pics from our last vacation from last year....

Blogger sux donkey balls!

All I want to do is comment on my previous post to answer those that have left me messages. something that's been done for eons (I guess really whenever blogger has had the option to leave comments) ago!

But ever since I got back, I can't comment on my own posts! Blogger acts as if everytime I try to comment I'm not signed in. so it's a vicious circle of type comment, click post, sign in, re-type comment, click post, sign in....

Blogger is sucking major donkey balls right now... and here I wanted to try and catch up...

Anyway, sorry for taking time to reply back but :

@Dejch - I like to keep you all up to date ;)

@Mynx - Thanks, the rest was pretty much smooth sailing. Didn't even get hassled by customs!

@Dawn - Awwww thanks... :)

Thanks again for commenting everyone and has anyone else had this problem?

Still alive!

Ahoy hoy everyone! So my flight got canceled and I'm still in VA for another night. I'll blog about it another day and try to do some catching up.

Just wanted to let you all know I'm still alive... barely...

Sunday Quickie

Ahoy hoy everyone!

Quickie post today, probably won't be enough to be a tidbit. Just checking in after blogpocalypse 2011!

glad to see everyone I follow make it through, althouh some of my wisdom (taken from a fortune cookie) comments have been lost to the ether :(

I survived my first week of my 3rd decade on this planet. there where some disturbing omens though... blogpocalypse... blackout in our building at work on wednesday. But all in all, it's been good. I would also like to tell my fellow cultist that I will be away for about a week starting on Wednesday as I will be gone on vacation to attend a wedding. I hope you will not forget me or worse, take the opportunity of my absence to unfollow me! ;)  So if you would all be so kind as to also pause your blog posts or any earth shattering events from your life so I don't miss out while I'm gone, well that would be muchly appreciated ;p

Speaking of earth shattering events, apperantly some people think next Saturday is the end of the world. So time to sin like there's no tomorrow! (I think that's what they want us to do?)

I'll probably be in a Church then so I guess I'll have front row seats of the rapture. Maybe I should go to confession before the wedding too... you know, just in case ;p

The day after 30 ...

BEfore we start this epic tale, let me say welcome to Dejch! Thanks for following :)

Now on to today's tale.

----------------------------------

There are milestones in every persons life that define them. They inexorably change who a person is down to their core. Challenges their perceptions, ideas, their very being. This is not one of those moments. Instead it's the story of the weekend leading up a pleasant weekend and birthday, followed by the obligatory late night freakout.

This story starts Sunday, Mother's Day. The morning and early afternoon, our titular heros spent doing chores and cleaning up his abode. Laundry done, home clean (ish), it was time for the true quest to begin. The quest for the holy bouquet.

Bobo needed to act without hesitation as not only did he need to find the perfect flowers to give, but time was limited as he needed to get to his parents as fast as possible to help set things up for the dinner she planned. (For she had invited people for supper forgetting that it was both mother's day and my birthday the next day).

So the hunt was afoot. He first tried a local florist that was on my way, but it was slim pickings. A couple of decent ones, but decent is not good enough. Not for this, not for the woman who blessed the earth with such a hero. So off he went, taking a very slight detour and went to the market not far from there. Lots more choices. Surely his quest for the holy bouquet would yield results here. After searching for it and being redirected by a seller to another stall also held by them, he found it.

Something like this
It was orchids which his mother loves and they were a lovely colour too. Yes, this would do nicely. After paying the merchant and having it wrapped, off to his parent he went. The day was glorious and bright, befitting the occasion. Upon his arrival, his mother thanked him and appreciated the gift. His sister then gave her the second part of their combined gift, a set of lottery tickets and scratchies. The chance for a well deserved early retirement for one such as she. Now our hero thought the hunting was done for the day. But the ever wonderful mother had another quest for him. One that would prove more challenging. Among her tickets, was a package that they sell for mother's day. She tasked our hero to buy two more to give to the mother's that will be visiting that night. Well off her went. The depanneur down the street didn't have one. So off he went to the pharmacy a little further down. Success they had... one. He bought it but with only 50% of the quest completed he moved on to the grocery store next door. He looked down at the selection and success! Victory was achieved! He returned triumphant! The celebration started. Food, friends, family. A great time was had by all!

The next day, the day of the great hero's birth, was a more low-key affair. Work was quiet, birthday greetings from all over warmed the Bobo's heart greatly. A lavish supper was had at a all you can eat korean bbq and sushi place. He was joined by his sister and his younger cousin who enjoyed reminding Bobo how old he is.

While a great time was had by all, this supper proved to be the heroes downfall. You see our heroes has a weakness (well multiple weaknesses but I digress...) you see he is much like a Mogwai. He cannot eat food past a certain time. More specifically, he cannot have a large meal past 7 or so or he faces a night of bad sleep. Indeed, this curse reared it's ugly head and caused Bobo a restless night. It also plagued him with dreams of sorrow, loss and regrets. The dreams and the sleep deprivation caused his mind to spiral down in a dark mess of self loathing and regret.

"What if this is as good as it gets? What if you truly do belong alone? After 30 what have you truly accomplished?" these questions plagues his mind. This lead for a long un-restful night. However, with the new day and caffeine in his system, he realizes that he has indeed done a lot and while things may not be perfect, there is time to work on it. This is not the end.

----------------------

So what can I say after I finally turned 30? I feel wiser and more mature. I think it's time for me to do something stupid ;p

Friday Tidbits

Ahoy hoy everyone!

It's a bittersweet day in the Ahoy Hoy-verse. First welcome to Sandra, who somehow stumbled to my blog! Thanks for joining and having a sip of the kool-aid, it is muchly appreciated!

But with the rejoicing there comes sorrow. We have lost one of our own. I am not sure what happened. If my posts have offended or if I was part of a purge. Nonetheless, thanks for staying for as long as you did. May the blog gods be with you.

So just a quickie Friday catch up on all things BoBo.

We voted a new government in on Monday. Sadly the Conservatives now have a majority. We are stuck with them for at least 4years. I foresee dark days ahead. I mostly blame Ontario for switching to the Cons. Ugh.... Will one of you faithful be willing to let me stay with them and hide out until they get voted out.

In brighter news, my back is healing nicely. Not as sore, cut is healing up. Getting a bit itchy and scabby, but nothing bad. It is also Friday. Friday is always a good day.

This is a reminder for everyone. Sunday is Mother's Day! I have no idea what to get her. My mom is notoriously hard to shop for. Her likes doesn't really translate to gifts. And she never gives hints or suggestions. Flowers are a default, will probably get her a set of lottery stuff too. Sounds cold I know, but she likes playing the scratchies and is one of the few things I know she won't complain about lol.
I love my mommy!

As always, Mother's Day is also a reminder that my Birthday is coming up. This Monday I will be turning the big 3-0! So far it feels like any other year (although my body decided otherwise this past year. I might blog about it later). I'll probably freak out on Monday.
More like meh... for now....
Good thing I bought me a new bottle of vodka! (And yes I did think about you Heather when buying it! I'll bring it over to Dawn's house)   ;)

Happy Weekend everyone!

PSA

Hello,

My name is Bo Bo. You might remember me from such blog posts as Can't sleep clown will eat me... and Porn guy.

Today, I will be blogging to you about a serious matter.
Bathroom cabinet doors. They appear friendly. Useful even. Allowing people to store various bathrrom items and keep them away from the casual pee-er and poop-er. Making snoopy guests take an extra step and thrill into looking what you have behind your back.

However, behind this friendly facade lies the sadistic mind of the door corner. Yes... this seemingly innocuous and innocent looking thing is justa trick to lull it's victim into a false sense of security. In reality, it lies there watching as it's trap unfolds. It patiently waits in it's half open position for a prey to crouch down and pick something up. Then once that person stands up, it pounces! Driving in, cutting skin and drawing blood!
Be careful or you can become it's next victim
So be careful of this silent attacker. Remember, if you aren't looking inside the cabinet, close the door. Otherwise, the next time it strikes, it might happen to you or a loved one!

P.S. If anyone asks, I got into a fight and you should see the other guy. Chicks dig scars right?

Election time

Ahoy hoy everyone!

Hope you all had a great (Easter) weekend :)

So today's post is gonna be a somewhat serious-er post. Federal elections are coming up here on May 2nd. I pretty much know who I don't want to vote for, but I though I; write this post to help me clear up my mind and inform you oh loyal cultists of the state of things here. Of course this is far from an unbiased review as I have a liberal/left leaning slant.

Where all the lying work gets done

So if you can't play nice with politics (I know, I'm just asking for it) then please disregard this post entirely.

Now a quick rundown of our system. It's a Parliamentary system. Basically the country is divided into ridings. Each riding elects an MP to represent them in Parliament. Now the party that has the most MP's elected forms the government, with that party's leader becoming our Prime Minister.  So we don't vote directly for our leader. In fact that is a complaint that comes up, the fact that parliment and in fact government isn't a popular vote. As proof the past ummm 3 governments where formed by the conservatives even though they had somewhere around 35ish% of the votes in total.

I won't get into more detail about majority/minority governments and all that so as to not bog things down.

Anyway, there are arguably 5 parties in the picture for federal elections. At least there are 5 that will get the huge majority of votes anyway.

The pretenders to the throne

Now as I mentioned, I won't be directly voting for any of them since none of them are in my riding. But since I barely know the actual candidates in my riding I go along what their party (and leaders) stand for, as usually they follow the party line anyway.

Now from left to right in the picture we have:

Stephen Harper - Conservative Party

He's been our PM for the past couple of years and I don't like it one bit. Too keep it short he and his party are like the Canadian version of the Republicans. Very religious, "tough on crime", "fiscally conservative" stereotype. Even though the fiscally conservative thing hasn't panned out. apparently he rules his party with an iron fist and likes control. I also think he;s a robot and looks like a used car salesman. I;m probably giving car salesmen a bad rap.... sorry.

Chances of voting conservative:  -100%
Sadly, he might win again....

Micheal Ignatieff - Liberal Party

The Liberal Party has usually been the other party that would win power in elections. Although ever since a financial sponsorship scandal rocked them in the 90's, they've been relegated to official opposition for most of that time. Ever since they've been kind of leaderless and really the only way they win is that people suddenly realise they don't want Harper and vote for the "only" party with a chance of beating him. Iggy is kind of a stiff though. Not robot stiff like Harper, but boring intellectual college professor stiff (as I think he was one in the States for a while).

Chances for voting liberal: 30%

Jack Layton - NDP

The NDP have been surging lately. Usually a dark horse third party, they've been slowly climbing out and are threatening to even overtake the Liberals as #2. they are the most leftist party of the bunch. Pure dirty commies I guess by american standards, but they stand for a lot of things I do to and usually stand for the "ideals" that are usually associated with Canadians (or that's the way they try to spin it anyway. He seems more like the type that you would have fun sharing a beer with at the pub. His rise in Quebec is also somewhat surprising this election too. While there's a possibility they'll be official opposition, it's not certain and being that high would be a first for the party.

Chances for voting NDP: 50%

Elizabeth May - Green Party

Poor Green party, they get 6% of the popular vote, yet they have no elected officials in parliament and no respect. the televised debate this year didn't include her at all. Not much to say as they're still a relatively minor party, but are making some noise. As their party name suggests, they're mostly in for environmental issues as a priority. Not sure if they have a candidate in my riding.

Chances for voting for Green (if I can): 25%

Gilles Duceppes - Bloc Quebecois

Now the Bloc is a special entity. They are a  separatist, sorry sovereignist party that are there solely to push and promote issues involving Quebec. They pretty much don't care about the rest of Canada and obviously only have candidates in Quebec. This will also mean that unless the votes get so splintered among different parties in the rest of Canada they will never win a majority (which isn't they;re goal anyway). Funnily enough, I like their leader the best. Unfortunately the whole separation thing is a big no-no for me so I just can't see me voting for them. Although, if I had to choose between them and the Conservatives, I would votes them in a heart beat!

Chances for voting Bloc: 20%

Now in my particular riding, the votes will usually go between the Bloc and Liberal candidates. This election I'm seriously leaning towards the NDP though. Dunno.... as we get closer I might change my mind, as I've usually gone Liberal before.

Or maybe I should just vote for some fringe party like the Marxiste-Lenininists. I;m sure they need some voting love too...

Light at the end of the tunnel!

Ahoy hoy!

I want to thank everyone who read my last post and commented. Glad I didn;t scare any of you off and thanks for the concern, it does mean alot to me :)

So quickie update is in order, saw the dermatologist. Got that minor thing taken care of. Also asked about the cream. Turns out, what my doctor prescribes is something dermatologists hate because of how readily used it is, even though it's a strong cream. IE I shouldn't have been using that at all!

Luckily I stopped once I correlated the two together, but that also means I probably pushed back whatever healing I got by like at least a week or two :\   Not feeling as bad as last week, but still not 100%

As for the rest, taxes are mostly done, execpt my mom has turned up some last minute receipts :\ So close yet so far! Shoudln't be too bad though. I have it all set up in a spreadsheet so I don;t have to actually re-calculate everything. (and the returns have usually been simple enough that I never bothered getting softaware to do it).
I want me one of those hats!

Work is still blargh and is the only thing that might get worse before it gets any better. Luckily long weekend coming up and thank god! I need it!

How I feel most days lately!

With the imminent departure of one of my minions, things will probably just get more hectic for me. Especially considering he was hired to help lighten the load in the first place.

Ah well... got me a screwdriver in hand, a long weekend coming up, and more hockey on the way (Habs lost, hopefully they'll bounce back!), there is some light at the end of the tunnel lol.

Until another hell week shows up lol!

I'll try to post something up this weekend, but just in case, to those that celebrate Happy Easter!

Hell week has been extended, or how things seem to go from bad to worse...

Ahoy hoy everyone!

Hope everyone is doing better then I am! Thought I'd just update you all on how hell week has been progressing so far. Well the income taxes are mostly done, I just need to fill iin some little details/explanation notes and get them signed.

After I finsh posting this, I'm off to my grandmother's to do hers. Thankfully it's really easy and mostly the same every year. Still a pain and I'm exhausted. Having trouble staying awake right now, ugh.

Work's been busy but manageable, so wasn't as bad as I expected. Although with "planning" the way it is, looks like things will continues this way for the forseeable future :\
Also I learned a minion coworker is leaving. He fouhnd a better job. Don't balme him at all and wish him the best. However, that leaves me back at square one as being the only tester for this particfular project. A situation that I'm sadly used to, but hate.

Finally to make matters worse. Well, I'm going to add a big disclaimer here: CAUTION potential ickyness/ too much information. this has to do with my Uncomfortable in my skin post(OMG I actually linked to a post, and it's one of mine, damn I'm selfish). So yeah, if that made you squirm or uncomfortable reading the next part will definitely be more of the same. I'll do a whole line of asterisks when it's safe to read again so you can merrily scroll down to the safe part.

So I'll try to keep it short, I had to go back to my doc, I took a routine blood test, but they needed to get another sample. So I went. While there, I mentioned how I was feeling generally better skin wise, but ummm down there I did have like a flair up and was wondering if there was a lotion she could recommend. She prescribed for me one of those cortizone/anti-fungal creams to help. I tried it for about a week. Instead of helping though.... after like the 5/6the day, it got worse. My skin is red and has a really burn-y sensation.

Worst of all, my doc is aways all week! Luckily I do have an appointment with a dermatologist this week for something (minor and) unrelated. So hopefully they'll have a better solution then my doc. Keep your fingers crossed for me please.

It can get really uncomfortable at times and I think it's starting to mess with my sleep too. Something I do not need this week....

******************************************************************************

Alright welcome back everyone! Anyway all that to say, I still have a busy but luckily short week ahead of me. On the upside,  the Habs are leading 2-0 in their sseries against Boston. Go Habs Go!

On the downside, I still have not bought a new bottle of Vodka (sorry Heather!). I still have a little left though and I promise to refill before I run dry.

Well thanks for sticking it out with me, have a great week everyone! Off to Grandmother's I go!

Now where's my red ridinig hood.....?

Hell week

Ahoy hoy everyone!

Quickie post while I'm waiting for things to set up at work.

Welcome our newsest cult memebers: Chio and Stace (I think... kinda frazzled so if I already welcomed you then welcome again anyway)! Check out their blogs which I will link to eventually. (I should create a macro to add that line automatically.....)

Also thanks to JapRoulette for stopping b y and commenting! Glad you found my slice of insanity!

Alright,  I think the title is pretty self-explanatory as to description of this upcoming week.
Work is packed and deadlines coming too fast. Oh and since I have an appointment next week, I gotta try to make up that time since I'm running low on personal time off.

I also gotta renew my passport this week which is always a test in patience. Finally I also have to finish my families income tax returns (6 returns in total including mine!) to finish off. I'm also probably forgetting some other stuff in there like eat/sleep/bath... but eh, they're overrated...

Oh and I'm running dangerously low on Vodka!

How I'm feeling and the week's barely started!

So if I'm quiet on comments and your blogs I apologize in advance, I'll try to get to them as soon as I can.

On a bright note my parents made it back safely from their vacation to the Phillippines and brought me back some goodies! Including a bottle of rum, woohoo! I would use it for this week, but I want to save it for when I can really enjoy it.

AAAnnnndddd  the HABS are in the playoffs! Playing Boston, it'll be a tough series, but should be an entertaining one. GO HABS GO!!!

Dreams

Ahoy hoy everyone.

So first I wanna thank Jessica for following my random mess of a blog. (Honest to god I will write a post with actual links to peoples blogs, just not y'know today). Welcome to the cult, the Kool Aid's in the fridge.

So instead of another tidbit post or the follow up to porn guy, I thought I'd go into something I think every blogger writes about at least once: dreams.

Lately I've been having, I wouldn't say re-occurring dreams but definitely dreams with the same themes.

The setting would always be in some scary house/mansion. Think of those better made horror/thriller movies. The ones that are thick with atmosphere. Sense of dread and something not quite right. Y'know how you feel just before you know something bad is about to happen on screen... yeah I get that feeling throughout the whole dream. So sense of impending doom, check.

The other part that keeps popping up, and this is the part that I hate probably more then  the fear, it's my godsister has been appearing in my dreams. What really kills me though is that she's either asleep or in a coma. Or the few times she's awake, I know it won't last or it isn't true. So fear + sorrow, yeah that's a great escape from the everyday.

Luckily they haven't been happening too often, about once every week or two. Just enough so that I remember about it. Now it also doesn't take a psychiatrist to figure out the meaning to my dreams. I think they're pretty straight forward.  Still sucks though as I usually wake up early in the morning with a fright and messes up the rest of my sleep.

Why can't I have nice relaxing dreams instead... I could use the pick me up!

Tidbits: The final of the first trilogy

Ahoy hoy everyone! Hope nobody gets badly pranked. We had a fake promise of donuts in the office. I'm severely disappointed that they joked about that. No one should ever joke about free donuts!

Everyone, please welcome our newest cult members, Steph and Francis! Be sure to check out Steph's blog (I swear one day I will actually put the links in an actual post) and pressure Francis to start one!

I also need to thank again Kat for pimping me on her blog! She is my main source of followers, so I know I'm getting quality readers.

So quickie tidbits, saw the doc on Wednesday. My skin was feeling better before then, but I decided to go on with the appointment anyway. Doc took a look, no rash or redness. So I just need to keep moisturizing heh no problems there.... So things are better in that front so yay!

I was able to re-negotiate my cell phone contract too. Got a cheaper rate and a few little extras. Now I get to text spam all of my American friends as much as I want! Mwahahahahahaha...

Not much more to say for today, so remember folks, Screwdrivers are a good source of vitamin C (right?).

Porn Guy

Before getting into this week's post, I just want to thank everyone for your comments and advice on my previous post. Quick update I have been feeling a bit better and I have a doc appointment on Wednesday, so if y'all can send good prayers/vibes my way, I'd appreciate it :)

Alright now on to the post itself. First of all, sorry to all those expecting some kind of porn or smut. The title was purely to try to attract more hits (well it's relevant but still, porn in title = more views right?)

Well, I work for a small software company and their hiring record can sometimes be iffy. Case in point they hired me.... but anyway, this post is about probably the most infamous person the company has ever hired. Now of course I will not name names and add this caveat: I never directly worked with him. I was on a different project and a lot of what I know was told to me by my co-worker who unfortunately had to work with him.

About two years ago, the company was looking for someone. I wasn't involved with the search but my friend, hmmm let's call him Bumblebee (original cartoon version if you're wondering) was. So after they did a handful of interviews, Bumblebee told me they offered the job to his least favourite candidate. Porn guy (who I shall continue on calling Porn guy) was the one. The company however liked him cause he was fresh out of university and could be molded and trained into a good employee (ie he was cheap to hire). Now I won't fault the company too much for thinking that, cause it has worked out before.

So on Porn guy's first day, he does the rounds for introductions. Well let me just say that I try hard not to be judgemental, but the first thing you think when you see him is NERD!!! Being a nerd myself, I don't throw that around negatively too often, but porn guy just yelled out "I spend all my free time online in my parents basement" nerd. You know what I mean, slim, fashion sense is not quite right. His face even has the stereotypical Hollywood nerd look. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, thinking Hollywood just messed with my head and he's probably a decent dude. Soon enough though I learned that his social skills were ummmm lacking for a better term.

Kinda like this, with a slightly better fashion sense, slightly.

He was the type that tried a little too hard to fit in but just couldn't get it right. What's worse was that he also had a bit of a superiority complex. For example, we had a Foosball table and some of us would play during lunch. He was really bad at it, but anytime someone would try to give him pointers, he'd get angry and say his way is better! (and this narcissism will be even more apparent later...)

Things just went downhill from there... during office meetings, which can be long and tedious, he actually fell asleep! Bumblebee would knock on the table to wake him up! Apparently that wasn't enough as he would fall back asleep. Now those meetings can sometimes make a raging cokehead hoped up on Red Bull fall asleep, but still, to repeatedly and blatantly take a nap? He wasn't even related to any of the bosses to get away with this kind of crap. God knows that his work wasn't any better. His solution to every programming problem would be to simply delete the offending piece of code instead of finding out the true problem. That or trying to pass it off onto someone else.

After all of this, you should probably piece together why I call him Porn guy. Yes, he was caught trading porn online at work. Our office doesn't have any cubicles. It's basically one big open space. One day  Bumblebee, looks over and sees a small thumbnail. Apparently Porn guy was trading pics with his MSN buddies. He'd bring in a USB key, trade his porn at work and that way I guess save his parents internet usage that way.

Reenactment w/o the porn on screen
Seriously, how desperate are you that you resort to surfing for porn at work? In an open environment where anyone can see it. I shudder to think what would've happened if he had a cubicle or an office.....

Ok, this post is getting kinda long. I'll write about the "demise" of Porn guy in a second post if you'd like to hear more. (Sadly yes there is more to tell....)

Uncomfortable in my skin

First and foremost welcome to KW. Thanks for joining the cult!

Alright, a warning before proceeding with this post. The title of this post is meant literally. Those that have really weak constitutions, or don't want to know me at such a "personal" level,  please turn back now! I honestly will not be upset. No worries though, no pics, probably some uncomfortable descriptions though.

Alright....

This will just be another rant/venting post...

Really no hard feelings....

Last warning....

Ok, well the thing is, these past couple of days my skin has been really sensitive. The closest description I have is it's like having a sunburn. You know, the dry itchy burning feeling especially when clothing rubs across your skin. Yeah that's what I've been feeling lately. The crazy part is, there's certain areas where it feels worse, but they are almost all over my body with no visible signs of rash oranything.

Basically it started at like my inner things and then I started feeling it on other parts of my body too.

Again no signs of a rash or hives or anything. At worse, it was slightly reddish skin, but that would be after scratching most of the time. The only thing is my skin is a bit dry, but nothing bad and again nothing that I haven't felt before (without the itching of course). I'm trying to find a lotion that'll help soothe the itch until I see the doc... I know it's not to good to test things out on my skin right now, but I'm getting desperate for relief.

In the meantime, I've also been checking things out online. I did see people having the same problem as the one I described, unfortunately no one seems to have a good remedy for it. Worse it seems like it might be at least partially stressed induced, which leads yet again to a vicious circle of stressing/being distracted by the itching, thus causing more discomfort thus stressing.... ugh.... I need to soak in a tub of calamine lotion.

Tidbits part deux

Ahoy hoy everyone!

Been feeling meh lately and didn't feel like posting yet another emo blog. So instead I thought I'd post up a quickie at work. Let my faithful followers know I'm still around!

Speaking of followers, welcome and thank you to Tony Van Helsing for joining the cult of Bo Bo. Kool aid will be served shortly.

Since most of these postings are done from work (in between waiting for some tests to finish running, so if work is reading this, I am being productive!) I promise to do a post with actual links to everyones blogs. It's the least I can do to say thanks, although I doubt links from here would actually generate more traffic to your blog. I mean let's be honest, I think you've all drank each other's kool aid already.

I've also had a bit of writers block. Nothing interesting has been happening to me lately, and I'm a pretty dull person, so I don't have many wild stories. There is one post bubbling in my head, but that will definitely be written outside of work since it deals with it. Nothing that's happening presently, but still, wouldn't feel right writing about it now.

Last note, Spring is officially here! Woohoo! Now if Mother Nature can also follow the schedule I would greatly appreciate it! I mean yesterday was the first full official day of spring and what does Mother Nature do? She gives us snow! :\

At least the temps are warming up and there's more sunlight out, so I am thankful for that. Hope everyone out there is enjoying the start of spring!
